The second age of the Emperor refers to the period of time after Saint Granticus slayed the dragon up until the civil wars of religion. Historians also refer to this period as the high middle ages, which is a term that recognizes the significant cultural and sociological progress during this period of history.
The second age of the Emperor was a time that saw the renewal of the cities, of trade, and of technology. There was an abundance of food, security, and wealth. The borders of the Empire were made secure from evil, and the monstrous creatures which lie beyond it were unseen for generations now and were reduced to half-forgotten children’s tales.
But idleness and complacency are the seeds of corruption.
